#TrendyTuesdayTheBlanketCape

What fashion trends are you loving this Fall Winter?  I am loving the blanket cape!  What a fabulous timeless trend, and they fit over the dolman, bat wing and kimono sleeves!  So many choices at Keaton Row you will have a hard time deciding.  I will share my three favorites and you can find all of the choices in this lookbook here.  Pictured above is shipped from Les Nouvelles and is made by Apiece Apart.  Just a fabulous investment piece to love for years to come.  I have added a pop of color with the top and the scarf and a casual biker boot.  Pair black and red with silver to add sophistication to the look!  Find the look above here.
Next up is this fabulous cape with blanked edge detail.  I love a piece that has a back as beautiful as the front!  You can find the piece pictured above here.
And who doesn't love a hood option on any jacket at a fabulous price!?  You can save so much on the cape that you can splurge on the pants!  Find the look below here.

#TrendyTuesday: #Sweater #Trends

Welcome to Trendy Tuesday!  Let's talk about a bit trend this Fall and Winter in sweaters:  Interest at the hem!  For many sweaters, it's a ruffle, you can also find sheer layers, and even feathers (like the look above)!  I've created a sweater trend lookbook, which I am calling, "Take Your Cat and Leave My Sweater."  I often struggle to name my lookbooks and enjoy pulling lyrics from a song for ideas.  And really ladies, you don't need his sweater!
Here are some of my favorite sweaters with interest at the hem (see the photo above).  You can find all these sweaters here.  Here are some tips on wearing this trend by figure type.
1)  Triangle and straight figures, this look works well for you and gives you some hips.  Choose the sweater with the ruffle or the lighter color on the bottom.
2)  Pear figures, need to choose the sweater with the lighter color on top and the plain woven panel.  Avoid the ruffle.
3)  Petites figures, go monotone with your top and pants.  The black sweater with the animal print sheer bottom is a petite sized top.  Pair it with a black pant or jean to keep your look long.
4)  Apple figures, because the peplum flatters your figure look for the sweater with a ruffle that has a start at or near the waist line to give you the look of an hourglass figure.  Like the sweater below where the flair starts at the waist!  Find it here.

#FrugalFashionFriday: Secrets to Save on Boots

I am continuing my obsession over boots today and letting you in on a secret that I recently learned about how to save on boots from the krazycouponlady:  women can purchase big girls boots to save $!  And vice versa!  So here is the size conversion break down I found at krazycouponladies blog.  Be sure to check the boot shaft height against your measurements when you are a woman shopping big girl sizes!  Should this measurement be a bit short, add the boot cuff to visually lengthen the look!  And if you are petite, this may be the perfect height!  The boot pictured above is under $55.00!

What a great way to save on boots, before the inventory is gone, bad weather hits, and the end of season sales!  I have created a page of big girl boot options for you at Keaton Row here.  Shipping and returns are free on all these boots!  And it's never too early to start your Christmas shopping!  Don't see a pair you like?  Request a free lookbook anytime here.

#WearWellWednesday: Boot and Styling Tips

Well you may have figured out by my Tuesday Trend tips, that I am a big fan of the boot.  But, boots can be pricey.  So here is how to get the best look for your investment in boots when ordering On Line:
1)  Get a good fit for the foot and the calf
      a)  Use a boot measurement guide provided by your retailer or here by Nordstrom.  I have shared their photo above.
      b)  Measure yourself using the guide and check your measurements against the retailers boot measurements.  See Nordstroms video on how to measure both the calf and the shaft height here.  Keep in mind that you may want to wear tights, socks or boot cuffs under your boot opening.  You can add a boot cuff to a boot with a larger calf measurement than you need and add a finished look at the same time.  I love to get boot cuffs at Etsy or if you are crafty you can make your own!  Etsy even has patterns for sale.  Want a pair of tights?  I can get you some at Keaton Row!  Just request a lookbook!
Find more information about how to wear the different styles of boots well at my blog posts below.

#TrendyTuesday:TheOverTheKneeBoot

It's time to talk about the drama boot trend:  The over the knee boot and how to wear it.  Most experts do not recommend this for the petite as it will shorten your look, but for the rest of us, I'll start with a skirt look for work or going out.  Can you wear this to work?  If you are in a creative field, yes you can!  So, fashion, advertising, television, etc., this look can go to the office.  For the rest of us, we may want to wear this for an evening out.  To pull this look together, add the same color of the boot to your jacket  or top look.  Like the animal print jacket above with has the boot color in the pattern.  Warm up all that black with the statement necklace.
You can also were the over the knee boot for casual every day looks.  Pair it with a skinny jean or a legging.  Again I have used the boot color in the jacket layer by matching the jacket trim to the boot color.  I added a pop of blue to continue the jean color and brighten the neutrals.  I love any drawstring bag, but this one by Michael Kors is a fav!

And how about a bold over the knee look perfect for the night out or the fashionista's day look?  I love to pair an animal print with a pop of red.  So I've added red accessories to this rocking over the knee boot look!  Shipping and returns are free.  You can find these over the knee looks here.   Don't see a look you like, or want something else to go with a boot I have shown?  Just request a free  lookbook here.

Support Something Saturday

All these ice bucket challenges have got us thinking about supporting organizations and our loved one's.  So as part of our Head to Toe event Jamie and  I are pulling out some ideas to show your support.  Many of us know someone in the armed services, so we found a camo wrap and some military inspired looks for you.  You can find the clothing for the look above here.
And another cause close to our heart is Autism Awareness.  Clare found a necklace with puzzle pieces that you can share with someone you love and a black dress with a bright print.  When you wear this type of print, keep the rest of your accessories simple!   Find the clothing and jewelry here.   Jamie's nail wrap notes are as follows.  Autism Awareness: Love this look! Fire Engine Tip, Stormy Seas Lacquer, Autism Awareness, and White Chevron. Apply one even coat of Stormy Seas Lacquer on nails and allow to dry before applying Fire Engine Tip to create a deep blue nail with red French tip; and White Chevron to create a green back ground for the white zig zags. Jamberry nails donates $2 from the sale of each Autism Awareness Wrap to The Autism Society. I love the necklace Clare found to complement this wrap! Autism Awareness also comes in Jamberry Juniors collection which fits children roughly up to age eight. Get your wraps here with Jamie.

Wear it Well Wednesday: Fall Color How To's

If you love the colors of Fall, but aren't sure how to wear them, this post is for you!  Maybe you are not sure about wearing orange or yellow and want some tips.
e
Here is how to wear it well:
1)  Keep the amount of orange and yellow small.  Use it as an accent or an under layer.
2)  Check the mirror, I am showing this as an under layer blouse, but you always want to make sure that a blouse or top color flatters in the mirror.  If it doesn't, skip the blouse and use it as accent only.
3)  Wear it with neutral and have the neutral as you main color.  Above we have matched it with black and grey.
Love the looks above?  Find the clothing here.   Halloween Nail Look: This look is just pure fun! Mummified, Persimmon, Veiled, and Candy Corn. Mummified, Persimmon, and Candy Corn are fashionably festive wraps to celebrate Halloween. Veiled reflects the pattern in the necklace and the sparkle adds some glamor to the holiday wraps.  And find the nail wraps here.

Try it Tuesday: Jamberry Nail Wraps

For the look above, Clare chose the classic blazer in Khaki, bootcut jeans, the half boot and a great Fall inspired scarf.  You can find the complete clothing look here.  Clare loves a blue nail wrap from Jamberry because it goes with any outfit with a pair of jeans!  Since the Jamberries last so long, it's always a good choice!
For the look below, Clare paired the faux leather quilted jacket with a blue and black sweater.  The classic bootcut jean flatters the figure and looks fabulous with the suede bootie!  This is Jamie's favorite look! I love the blues and browns with my jeans! Puffy Punch, Navy Quatrefoil, Navy Skinny, and Soiree. Quatrefoil complements the pattern in the model's jacket, Navy Skinny repeats the lines in the shirt, Soiree gives you the feeling of texture similar to the material used in the shoes, and Puffy Punch creates a focal point with a punch of color.

For more information on ordering Jamberry nail wraps or the wraps pictured below.  Please find Jamie here and get yourself some wraps to try this Tuesday.  Want to see how easy applying Jamberry wraps can be? Just watch this video!

Join Us for a Week of Head to Toe Looks

With the holiday's approaching you will want to look your best and purchase the best gifts for your family and friends.  So, I got together with a friend who sells Jamberry Nails to show you how to get fabulous complete looks and give you gift ideas!  It's easy when you have a fashion stylist and a Jamberry consultant!  Here we worked with a traditional black and white look and added a pop of coral!
Let me tell you a little more about Keaton Row.  Keaton Row offers free fashion styling through their stylists.  As a Keaton Row stylist, I can help you find clothing to flatter your figure, fit in your budget and give you a complete look.  My commission is paid by the retailer and you pay the same price whether you shop with me or shop with the retailer.  In most cases shipping and returns are free too!  So you are getting free fashion styling and personal shopping!  You can request a free lookbook from me at any time here.
You will love the clothing look with the chevron cardigan, fitted turtleneck and skinny black jeans.  Add a coral scarf and some great lacy booties with peep toe to show off the Jamberries!
The nail look was created using Blush Lacquer, Black Tip, Black Lace and Reminisce nail wraps.  Apply one even coat of Blush Lacquer on nails and allow to dry before applying the Black Tip to create a blush nail with black French tip; and Black Lace to create a blush back ground for this design.  You will find our Lacquer line lasts 2-3 days longer then nail polish without chipping and is thicker so you only have to apply one coat instead of several.  Find the clothing here.
And find the Jamberry items here.

And here is a nail look for yesterday's style the sale post (above)!  The wraps are Beauty in Bloom, Pretty in Pink, Fruit Punch Carmen Ombre.  Combine them all to say Summer's not over yet!  This fun and flirty combination has a little bit of everything including sparkle!  You can send Jamie a note with a link to any Keaton Row lookbook and she will fin you wraps to match!

#StyleTheSale: Pink Pant

I am loving the pink pant deal at KR this week!  At just over $15.00, I can live out one of my fashion fantasies and you can too.  Maybe you are unsure of how to wear the pink pant, so I put together two looks for you with all the items ON SALE.  You can find both of the looks above here.  Pair the pink pant with with neutrals, animal prints, and blue.  This works with an animal print, because the mind reads this as a neutral.  I also love this pant with a white top and the blue boucle jacket from ASOS (for under $20.00) many of my clients have already purchased (below) or a chambray or denim top! There are still a few of the boucle jackets left in sizes 1, 4, 6, 8 & 14 (as I write this post).  Wear with a white top and jean jacket, etc.  Just think of it as a variation of red white and blue.  Have fun and look pretty in pink!

#FrugalFashionFriday: The Pleated Leather Skirt Options

The pace at work is picking up with the Fall and Winter season being the busiest for retailers and I have neglected my Frugal Friday Posts.  But I am back today with two of my fashion favorites:  the pleated skirt and the button down shirt.  The pleated skirt is a fabulous way to flatter your waist line and slim the waistline!  So, let's compare the high end look to the low budget look!
The high end look is made with genuine finishes and fibers:  silk and leather!  The low priced look is made with faux leather and is shorter and the fiber is cotton.  I also love the button down shirt in any finish as a frugal jacket layer.  Since I am entered the season of life with my own personal Summer most days of the year, I also love this as a jacket layer to finish the look and keep me cool!  You can find both looks here.  Don't think this look is for you, but want a high end look for a low budget price?  Send me a lookbook request at Keaton Row?

#WearItWellWednesday: The Dress Length

Please excuse my selfies, I am going to have to figure out how to set the timer!  Have you ever ordered a dress online and tried it on to find it fits perfectly, but something is just not right?  You see it and notice it doesn't look as fabulous on you.  The fix for this is to hem the dress.  Remember these models are at least 5' 9" and consider wear the hem falls on them! I just got a dress and had this issue.  I am only 5' 3".  Here is the dress before and after.  Which length do you like?
Now, if you don't sew you can generally have any item hemmed at your local dry cleaners!

#TrendyTuesday How to Wear the Rain Boot

In every life a little rain must fall, but there's no reason you can't look your best while it does!  So, let's talk about styling the rain boot.
1)  Keep it Casual:  The rain boot is casual so keep the look relaxed with great textures, and comfy fibers like the Sherpa look cardigan above.  Add some red to brighten the look with the skinny jean and the fabulous backpack handbag.  Love the Sherpa cardigan and rain boot look?  Find it here.
2)  Follow the same rules as the under the knee boot and keep the look slim and closer fitting to the body.  Above, I paired a rain coat with a crew neck sweater and skinny grey jeans.  Grey jeans are a big trend in denim this Fall Winter.  For the rain coat and red rain boot click here.
3)  Keep it Fun!  Above I paired an animal print dress with a shaggy Free People Cardigan. I kept the overall look slim with a shirt dress.  You can find the Free People and rain boot look here.  A dress with rain boots can be the perfect solution for the outdoor concert with a rainy forecast!

#WearItWellWednesday: The Lace Poncho

My lace poncho obsession continues and today I am showing you ways to wear it well!
The first way to wear it is in the All White trend.  So, layer it over the camisole in the same shade of white and over blue jeans.  That' me in the blue and white option and the Nordstom model in the all white look.  You can wear this look over 40!
The second way is to add some color.  Here I chose traditional blue and white added a blue camisole and wove a matching ribbon through the lace to match your favorite camisole!  I also wore a pair of clam diggers in white to show off the blue ribbon woven in the bottom of the poncho!  Now this top has a waistline!

And finally I paired this poncho with a camisole dress underneath.  Go with the all white look, or add a camisole dress in your favorite color and weave in the ribbon!  I used 1 1/2 of ribbon so that I could tie a bow.

#Howtowearthebootie

The bootie:  Pair with everything, really the most versatile of all boots and well priced!    Booties are often similar in size to heels, so they go with any dress!  The look above is perfect for work.  It's also a great piece to wear to take a Summer look to Fall or Winter.  Below I paired it with a shirt dress I wore this Summer and added a blazer.

You can wear the half boot or bootie with skinny or boot cut jeans. To wear with boot cut jeans, just wear under the jean.  For an edgier look, get the fringe bootie and pair it with the skinny jean!

Here is another look for the shoe lover that I call the statement bootie!  Keep the other clothing pieces simple and pair this faux fur bootie with a skinny pant or jean.  Balance the heavy bootie with a piece to bring the eye to your face with a statement necklace.  You can even make more of a statement with the faux fur bootie, by choosing a pant lighter than the bootie in color, such as grey or tan!
In general petite women want to choose leg covering that is in the same color as their boot, or bootie and their dress or skirt to keep the look long!  Want to find some booties on sale?  Check out this page!
