Pazzles Inspiration Cover

Just finished up a beautiful custom order for a Pazzles Inspiration cover.  I had to share the photo as I love how it turned out.  The fashion designer in me loves lining up and matching patterns and I was delighted that the motif on this fabric was a perfect match for the length of the machine!  How elegant this lattice fabric looks with just a simple bow!

Halloween Page Inspired by Straw Wreaths

Last year the straw wreaths were all over Pinterest and I was so enchanted by them.  But I am not a wreath person, so I decided to try a version my a scrapbook page.  Here is one I made with Heartfelt Creations dies and stamp set.  Also used were Stampin' Up stamps (jack-o-lanterns) and Close to My Heart Stamps (spider web).

So Simple Saturday

More variations with the scraps and the Basic Grey Butterfly.  Just a quick sympathy card.  You could use this ideas with anything really.  Just replace the butterflies with something else.  Try using flowers, Christmas Ornaments, birds, etc.  The stamp is Angel Company.

Finish It Friday: Back to Square One

I have had a quilting UFO in my stash for at least 6 years and am determined to finish this year.  I am making a quilt pattern from the Buggy Barn and have pulled it back out again.  Here are some of the reasons I have struggled to finish it:
1)  I love a project I can finish in one day!  So, when it takes more than a day I get discouraged and procrastinate!  I actually will neglect things to finish open projects because I get so stressed.
2)  Accuracy is not my strong suit, and quilting requires accuracy.
3)  There are triangles in this quilt!  I'm sorry, have you not sewn triangles before?  Well, trust me even with a fashion design background I find sewing on the bias to be inaccurate and frustrating!
4)  Scraps everywhere!  Well not every where, but in my fabric closet.
5)  So many pieces!  What was I thinking!

Okay, so now that I have expressed my frustration here is how I am going to tackle this job:
1)  Finish it Fridays:  devote one day a week to working on it (at least one day).
2)  Join a quilt guild.  I joined a quilt guild and they meet for an entire day on the 2nd Thursday of every month.  It is informal, so I can bring my quilt and work on it.
3)  Blog about it.  Maybe, someone will encourage me or follow up and ask how I'm doing.
In the last month, I pulled out my squares, finished cutting and sewing.  Today, I began piecing my 1st block (see photo above).  Only 29 more to go!  I am stressing about all those points in the center and how well it can be quilted.  It looks nice though, doesn't it?!

Work the Stash Wednesday & Another Mojo Monday Challenge

I was so happy with my Mojo Monday card, that I decided to make another.  And since it is Work the Stash Wednesday, I used more of the same scraps I used in the last card.  This is a favorite technique to use my scraps, once I finish a scrap book page I just keep card making until they are gone.  This is for the Mojo Monday Challenge 261.  Below is the sketch for MM 261.

Try It Tuesday: PPDC & An older Mojo Monday Sketch

I started paper crafting as a scrap booker, and have started making my own cards.  I am not always confident of my layouts for cards, so this Tuesday I decided to try a sketch.  I found one I liked at Mojo Monday's.  It's an oldy.  I am entering this in The Play Date Cafe Challenge 151:  Wine, Pumpkin, Moss.

I used scraps from my stash and can only identify the butterflies as Basic Grey.  The 70 is cut with Cricut Storybook, the circle frame with Elegant Edges. Border punch is Martha Stewart.  So, next time you need a card or page and aren't sure about a layout, try a sketch!  Thanks for stopping by!

Damask Delight at the Ribbon Reel Challenge

If you follow my blog, you might have noticed an obsession for challenges.  Well, I have found a new challenge blog that love called The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog.  So, today I am giving their Damask Delight Challenge a try.  I used Anna Griffin paper, Inkadinkadoo stamps, My Favorite Things Die-Namics (High Tea Doily), some ribbon, seam binding and a sprig from Michaels.
