Thanks for the Cartridge Susan At Busy with the Cricky!

Just wanted to post a thank you to Susan at Busy with the Cricky for the Martha Stewart Holiday Cakes Cartridge! It has been sooooooooo long since I had enough mad money for a cartridge and this was on my short list of must haves. Just got it today and wish I had time to play with it immediately! But I got lots to do, so watch for a post to follow with some new cuts, and pages.
Now about the mini album above, how about a cut file for the three tabbed pages? You can find a cut file for this mini album HERE. And you will need George and Locker talk. If you just want the pages, you can remove my computer cut and just use George. If you use chip board, and the Bind it All wire, you will only be able to insert three pages. I actually don't have the Bind it All, but had some wire left over from a class I took some where and used it with my Crop a Dile. You should be able to cut your floppies, with a Crop a Dile, a Bind it All or a Cinch. I used my Xyron to adhere my Basic Grey paper to the chipboard. Here is a list of my supplies:
Floppies (look for some soon in my Etsy store if you have thrown yours out)
Basic Grey Skate Shop paper
Tim Holtz embossing Collage and Notebook folders
Bind it All Wire
Ribbon (the brown ribbon with the leaf vine is Martha Stewart)
Autumn Leaves Journal Cirlce and Arrow Stamps (I love these journaling stamps!!!!)
Clock Face (Not sure it's been in the stash forever)

On Assignment for Scrapbooks Etc Song Lyrics

I am submitting an On Assignment: Inspired by song lyrics for the Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine. I was inspired by the post it note holders that you can find on Etsy, made with floppy disks. As soon as I saw them, I knew I wanted to make a mini album! Then I saw the Scrapbooks Etc was looking for submissions inspired by song lyrics and thought of Brad Paisley's song "Welcome to the Future." I thought it would be the perfect thing to scrap my sons' obsession with gaming and also record how things were when they grew up. Just think of all the things they have: hand held game systems, games stored on little chips, wireless play, accessories for their game systems like instruments and athletic equipment, and they can play on the go or at home. Wonder what the future will be for their children!?
Don't have any floppies left? Check my Etsy store in the next few days for floppies and kits to make your own. I will list supplies and some how to's in tomorrow's blog post.

Thanks for the Beautiful Quilt Kathe!

My Step-Mother, Kathe, gave me the most beautiful quilt and I have to share a picture! Kathe is to quilting, what I am to scrapbooking. Isn't her sense of color wonderful? I never would have been brave enough to include the black prints with touches of color in them in this quilt, but they are perfect! I love that she included some oriental prints in this quilt as it will always remind me of her love of oriental art and images. It has a poppy flower print, I so love poppies! There is also a 1920's fashion print in here, love that too! And she may not know that after my blue and white obsession, black and red or next on my list of top color combos! Oh, she has me considering trying applique quilting for the first time. I think I can work in a Cricut image, don't you? Oh, if only my hands could keep up with my creative mind! If only, I had more hours in the day for crafting! Thanks Kathe for the beautiful quilt, I will always treasure and for inspiring me to quilt!

Two for Tuesday: A Card and Treat Box

Been busy working on items for my son's Birthday Party! This year, I am determined to have the thank you cards made before the party! He chose to have a "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" themed party. He is a great reader and has read every book in the series. So, when he saw the movie was coming out, he decided on the party theme. I made invites using my Adobe Photoshop and changed the Movie Ad to read "Collin's Party Coming Soon". While visiting annasart blog, I found the perfect idea for the treat boxes. Thanks for the inspiration Ingrid! I have made a treat box using a cut card file from Denise, for the top and my SVG backpack cut file (base only). See this post for my treat box cut file. While you probably won't make owl treat bags, you can think about using this back pack base cut file with any of your card cut files that fold at the top. Just glue the back of your card to the back of the box base and use hook and loop sticky dots to close your top of the card to the front of the box (see photo below).

I then made my Thank you cards with the Stampin Up Owl Punch and my Sizzix Harlequin plate. If you need a Stampin Up consultant, let me know and I can put you in touch with mine. Paper is Cloud Nine Design for card base and treat bag base. Stamps are Close to My Heart Now if I can just find some owl themed candy, tattoos and goodie bag items I will be all set! Wish I had an owl cookie cutter too!
And for those of you who are interested, here is a quick and easy card I made with my flower cut file from the last post.

Scalloped 5 Petal SVG to Share

Well, it's been awhile since I have shared an svg. Life is just so busy! But, as I said below, I was determined to make a cut file for these flowers as I am almost out of these embellishments. Isn't it cute?! Find the SVG HERE.I would have made a cut file for my DS and Cricut friends too, but I am still looking for the plain five petal flower in the Cricut cartridges. Do you know which cartridge has this flower? I have tried the Plantin Schoolbook, but it is 6 petal and just doesn't look the same to me with the scallops. Funny, how you get a vision in your head of what you want, and compromises won't due!
I have been slow to post as I have been on a vacation to California. I have several ideas for items I hope to make, but not enough time to make them. And, my wonderful Step Mother, gave me the most beautiful quilt! I am binding it now and hope to post pictures when I am done. She has the most wonderful sense of color!

How Do You See it?

Last week I got a chance to scrap with my friend (and Stampin Up consultant) Lynn. I pulled an old cut file out of my bag, which I had made and pictured with wonderful Prima flowers. I had planned to use it for my Grandmother in law's 90th birthday page. She saw it, and said it would be wonderful for Halloween. Funny, how we each see something different in the same thing!
So, today I am sharing a page that I made with the cut file using Heritage and George and asking you, how do you see this file used? It always amazes me, what color can do to something! I little white, pink and green and this is a girly cut file, a little black, purple, orange and green and it's perfect for Halloween! Want the cut file? Visit my original post here for the link. So, thank you Lynn, for helping me to see the Halloween in this cut file! As always, I love your comments!
Supplies used:
K & Company Paper (orange background and black cat) Specialty Paper Jen Yanok
Stampin Up Holiday Best Stamp (Trick or Treat)
Storybook Cricut Cartridge (Title block)
George, Basic Shapes & Heritage (cut file available at link above for black fence cut)
Assorted buttons and ribbons
Bling from Want2Scrap

I'm Puttin on Some Fancy Pants Designs!

So, I saw on Facebook that Fancy Pants Designs had a call for new design team members. I love Fancy Pants and would love to be a designer for them. So, I finished up an Etsy order and pulled out the paper and stamps. Here are two pages I submitted that I was very happy with. Both the patterned papers are Fancy Pants and the stamps in the corner of the blue page are Fancy Pants. I also used the flower stamps from Fancy pants for the center of the two layered pink flowers and the journaling block.

On a side note I have realized that it is time to reorganize the craft room. I struggled to find any current Fancy Pants in all of my paper collections. I can't get it locally and hate to pay for shipping. Plus, I wanted to make the deadline that FP set. So, I made due with some older Fancy Pants. And isn't it still the bomb?! Fancy Pants always has timeless items, that you can use and still look fashionable in! Of course, it helps that I had this beautiful picture of my niece! She lives in the Slovak Republic with her parents(my brother and his wife) and sister. Sometimes, I only get to see them on Facebook, those are the moments I am so thankful for Facebook! I could not get over how grown up she is! I kept singing the song from Fiddler on the Roof while making this page, "When did she grow to be a beauty?"
Supplies:
Fancy Pants "In My Words Stamps" Journaling Block
Fancy Pants paper brown paisley, and
Fancy Pants teal floral geometric Fancy Free Collection "Newfangled"
Solid Motled Brown in frame and stripe Fancy Free Collections "Adorned"
Fancy Pants stamps swirl in the corners of blue page
Martha Stewart Loop Punch
Mrs. Grossman sticker zigzag
Stampin Up Harlequin Plate (for detail inside frame)
Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink in Bottle and Denim
Turquoise Stickles
Cricut Storybook Cartridge and Gypsy for brown frame
Cricut Home Decor Cartridge for Pink Frame
Gala Glitz Romance (Pink glitter on frame and flowers)
CTMH Free Spirit Stamp around picture
Paper flowers are stamped with Fancy Pants and some are from Costco kit
Buttons are Papertrey Ink

Then tonight, while straightening my scrap space, I came across a stash of more Fancy Pants! Of course, the submission has already been emailed! I keep two other lines in their own container, now Fancy Pants is getting it's own space too!
I love the paper flowers in the pink and brown page! They came from an album kit my sister got me at Costco. I am almost out and was looking at them wondering, "What do I love about these flowers?" Then it hit me...scalloped petals! Oh, I feel a cut file coming on ladies! You know I can't resist putting scallops on anything, so check back soon!
